Project Coordinator - Maternal, Child & Women’s Health

SM Healthcare Placements is inviting applications from suitably qualified individuals for the position of Project Coordinator - Maternal, Child & Women’s Health based Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal for an exciting role within an International NGO in the health care field.

The incumbent will be seconded to eThekwini district to support maternal, child and women’s health programmes.

The following are the qualifications, experience, knowledge and attributes requirements:

Education, Training and Experience
• Diploma in General Nursing with Midwifery
• Training on NIMART.
• Proof of current registration with SANC.
• Excellent communication, resourcefulness and supervisory skills.
• Ability to handle a varied, busy and pressurized work load.
• Drivers licence and own transport; willingness to travel.
• 3 years’ experience in the Primary Health Care environment in the public sector.
• Previous management, training and mentoring of staff and ability to handle conflict.
• Facilitation and training skills.
• Postgraduate qualification in HIV Management.
• 2 years’ additional experience in the Primary Health Care environment in the Public
• Health Sector.
• 3 years’ experience in PHC Supervision.
• Previous experience in National Core Standards/ Ideal Clinic Realisation and
• Maintenance (ICRM) project Mentorship.
• Knowledge and understanding of 90 90 90 strategy

Key performance areas

• Coordinate programme activities and oversee day to day programme implementation at facility level.
• Participate in development of best practices and enhancement of HS (PHC) program activities.
• Assist in programme monitoring, evaluation and reporting.
• Participate in program audits and other quality improvement activities.
• Provide technical support and operational solutions to supported facilities.
• Facilitate site specific training on Clinical Health Assessment, Treatment and Care.
• Working and dealing with Provincial and local health authorities.
• Supervise, support and mentor roving team members to ensure optimal performance and maintenance of sound labour relations.
