Project Developer (Solar Energy Projects)

We have an excellent opportunity for a Project Developer (Manager) to work with one of the South Africa's leading solar energy companies.

Purpose / Role Summary
As a Project Developer, you will be charged with supporting the development of utility-scale solar power projects in South Africa. This will include - identifying and securing renewables development sites, negotiating land agreements, managing interconnection requests, overseeing environmental permitting and managing project activities in order for projects to proceed to construction, financial analysis, contract negotiations, and management of external stakeholder relationships through direct communications as well as hiring and managing advisors.

Knowledge and Skills (Minimum Requirements)
A successful candidate must be resourceful, possess excellent analytical ability, be self-directed requiring limited guidance from management, demonstrate attention to detail, be well-organized and able to handle multiple priorities and projects at one time.

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Science or a related field is required
• Must possess a strong interest in working in renewable energy and preferably have experience in the sector
• Demonstrated evidence of effective strategic thinking, planning, project management, organizational and execution skills;
• Excellent written communication skills including reports, planning documents, spreadsheets and presentations are required;
• Excellent verbal communication skills including small group or large group settings, interpersonal skills with ability to work within a cross-functional team, the ability to collaborate effectively and cultivate relationships with a variety of stakeholders and other interested parties internal and external to the company;
• Proficiency in common computer applications including: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project, and Visio;

Location: Successful incumbent will primarily be based in Johannesburg.
