MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
• To source, assess and structure projects and ensure they are implemented correctly
• To develop strategies to build strong project pipeline to fulfil the unit’s strategic objectives
• Involvement in all stages of project investigations, including identification, structuring, implementation and exit Client representation on steering committees and Boards I project implementation
• Client representation on industry task teams and seminars

JOB OBJECTIVES:

Key functions of the position include:
•Project development/management
- Project scoping, pre-feasibility study, bankable feasibility study, pre-implementation and implementation
• Project alignment with strategic objectives
- Ensuring that the initiative/projects are aligned with the strategic objectives of the unit and will contribute to meeting the Unit objectives and project milestones
• Risk identification and qualification
- Identify any risk (including during implementation) and defining mitigation plans to minimise these risks
• Project implementation
- Monitoring and management of project implementation to ensure it is implemented correctly, according to plan and within budget
• Portfolio company directorship
- Assigned a place on the board of investee company
- Attending AGMs and other board meetings
• Quality control
- Quality control of projects, implemented correctly to contribute to SBU’s strategic objectives and ensure client meets financial obligations to Client etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• CA (SA)
• BCom/B Agri/BSc in Agriculture / Agricultural Economics
• BEng / BSc or similar qualification with Honours / post-graduate degree

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
• 4-6 years industry/sectors operational experience (preferably within Aquaculture, Livestock, Field Crops or Horticulture sectors)
• Understand and review models of proposed financial structures
• Previous project management experience dealing with multiple partners/promoters and a proven ability to build internal and external relationships
• Detailed analysis of market environment
• Knowledge of financing instruments
• Knowledge of Financial, Legal and Technical skills
