PROJECT ENGINEER (Mechanical Engineering)

Requirements:
NDip Mechanical Engineering
Project Management Course Advantageous
3 -5 Years’ experience in automation OR PM
AutoCAD-Inventor
Practical application of engineering, science and technology
Machines and tools experience
Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control and cost
Ensure good timekeeping
Follow the absence procedures
Attend training as required
Adhere to rules, policies and procedures
Support the business and its vision
Responsibilities:
Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics or computer generated reports
Assist designers in developing the design of products using CAD
Confer with engineers or other personnel to implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, or to provide technical information
Recommend design modifications to eliminate machine or system malfunction
Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operations and to make recommendations for corrective action.
Develop, coordinate or monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods.
Specify system components or direct modification of products to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications
Prepare cost estimates for product manufacturing as well as perform engineering duties in planning, managing, designing and overseeing the installation equipment supplied.
Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials and labour estimates
Prepare estimates for use in selecting subcontractors
Confer with engineers, owners and subcontractors and adjustments to the duration of the project
Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation at regular intervals for the duration of the project
Assess cost effectiveness of products, tracking actual cost relative to bids as the project develops
Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures
Review material and labour requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components
