Established company in the Onshore and Offshore oil and gas industry needs a qualified BSc Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 3 years project experience to join their team.

Based in our office in Cape Town in South Africa and reporting to the Operations Manager, we are looking for candidates with following requirements:

Qualification and Knowledge

Mechanical (or equivalent) Engineering Diploma /Degree
Project Management qualification / training would be an advantage
Technical knowledge of steel fabrication, welding processes, process piping design and fabrication
Understanding of related standards (ASM B31.3, API, ASME IX, AWSD1.1) would be an advantage

Competencies :

At least 3 years’ experience in Project Management in areas such as:
Steel piping or structural fabrication
Oil and Gas (up or down stream)
Steel structures or piping site construction projects
Marine construction or refurbishment work
Riser inspection and repair

Proficient with MS Project or equivalent

Proficient with MS Office (Word / Excel / Outlook)

Organised and methodical

Good team player with excellent communication abilities

Quality, results and solutions oriented
Proactive and committed in addressing technical challenges

As Project Manager your responsibilities will be to:

Determine project estimations for quotations according to clients’ requirements which includes site surveys and formulate technical and commercial proposals
Prepare projects, from materials procurement, fabrication and site work specifications and sequencing, fabrication requirements, manpower allocation and workshop instructions preparation.
Follow up and monitor all projects phases and coordinate teams to ensure successful completion. Report project progress periodically.
On completion, prepare project summary including lessons learnt and financial analysis.
