Position based in Lephalale, Limpopo

1. Job Intent

PURPOSE:
• To plan, coordinate and manage ICT (Information, Communication and Technology) project execution, project resources and risks for the duration of the project phase, whilst adhering to Project management; business performance standards and ICT standards
• To provide competent technical support to ICT projects
• To manage and report on overall project execution in line with Programme and Portfolio objective and EWPM principles

MAJOR CHALLENGES:
• Manage resource base within a rapid changing business environment
• Manage client expectations within numerous projects in execution and specific governance framework • Diverse types of projects and businesses needs


2. Job Requirements
Qualifications:
• Advanced Diploma: Project Management ( Essential/Minimum )
• B Degree (Hons) (Relevant) ( Essential/Minimum )

Experience:

Name •
Business process and Business analysis (IM) experience and knowledge
• Business aptitude in one or more relevant business areas (eg Plant, Mining, PAM, Logistics etc) (3 years)- Recommended/Desirable Proficiency


3-5 years Importance

Operational
Experience ICT project implementations 6-8 years (in total) Essential/Minimum Operational


Job Outputs / Tasks
The incumbent will inter alia be
responsible for the following:

Best Practice and Knowledge Management • Ensure best practices are implemented for all projects
Ensure all ICT projects are executed according to EWPM and best practices
• Ensure knowledge transfer between projects occurs
Ensure continuous feedback from lessons learned in order to improve project management processes

Business Performance and Operations Ensure the execution of ICT projects according to time, cost, quality
and scope
• Implement project management principles and practices for planning,
design and implementation of project outcomes
• Develop, implement, monitor and measure and report performance goals
and metrics
• Manage ICT project risks by assessing liabilities, reporting and
monitoring standards in line with the client project standards
• Improve value by ensuring that projects are focussing on the
relevant business drivers

Compliance, Governance and Assurance • Interpret and comply with project governance systems, policies,
procedures
• Ensure development of project through gated review process
• Ensure compliance with ICT standards and processes
• Adhere to Enterprise Wide Project Management (EWPM) Methodologies
• Deliver projects in accordance to set baselines according to Project
Charter

Customer, Stakeholder and Client Relationship Management • Manage internal and external relations, including interface with
service providers and applicable BU's
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement forums within BUs and represent the client in a professional manner.


Effective People Management
Provide leadership/direction in selection, development and motivation
of project resources
• Manage project resources KPA's, set and monitor performance standards
and take action to correct deviations
• Promote teamwork, direct and lead project teams through visible and
transformational leadership

Financial Management
Manage and ensure optimal use of budget allocated to project
• Accountable for management and reporting of project's capital budgets
according to governance and guidelines
• Responsible for project capital forecast
• Financial authorisations based on delegated signing authority

Safe and Healthy Work Environment
Develop and implement projects from conceptual to commissioning phase
in adherence to Project Charter
• Effectively apply project process methodology and enforce project
standards
• Communicate project plans and statuses to stakeholders
• Develop, direct, coordinate and integrate implementation of ICT
projects throughout.
• Provide project consulting regarding capital and project improvement
• Per project basis, develop and maintain a Risk Register in accordance
with Governance Risk and Compliance (GRC) Framework
• Develop and manage risk mitigation measures and plans
