PROJECT MANAGER KNITWEAR - MADAGASCAR
SALARY: R30K – R40K
Requirements
• Diploma in Industrial Engineering or Diploma / Certificates from or any other relevant qualification from a recognized Institute.
• 5- 7 Years experience in Industrial Engineering / Work study functions in Knitwear / Clothing manufacturing environment.
• Must be able to set, monitor and maintain targets at a AQL
• Must have sound technical knowledge.
• Strong analytical ability.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Garment construction knowledge essential
• Excellent problem solving abilities and proven ability to affect and manage change.
• Proven ability to complete projects on schedule with a focus on refining production methods to increase margin.
• Excellent time management skills and ability to juggle constantly competing priorities within a multi-channel business.
• Understanding/ability of sewing & cutting techniques and fabric utilization.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications and other database management software; Proficiency in Excel skills a must.
Duties
• Provide technical input in areas such as methods, handling, construction, machinery and attachments etc. to the production teams in order to improve efficiency.
• Costings of operation
• Implement continuous improvements to the manufacturing process.
• Evaluate, train, and develop machine operators to maximize their strengths.
• Complete method studies to improve labour and cost estimates.
• Candidate must work to achieve production target and quality control.
• Schedule production with cutters and sewers to guarantee on-time shipments
• Implement and utilize system to track production output and efficiencies on a daily/weekly basis
• Communicate all levels on status and production availability and elevate delays or issues immediately; ensures outbound delivery schedules are met and works with Logistics
• Encourage accident prevention by promoting cleanliness and closely monitoring work environment to insure safety procedures are being followed daily
• Ensures that all safety concerns are addressed.
