Our client installs solar rooftop solutions countrywide.
The average size of their projects is 250MW.
This role is URGENT.
They are going through a growth phase and require the services of a Project Manager to oversee all the site-based projects, which currently are about 5 at any given time.
The role is high pressured and needs someone with a cool head.
There is definite growth / promotion potential as the company grows.
This role is mainly office bound around the planning and managing the site work with all the projects simultaneously.
Requirements:
Minimum 4 years’ experience in a hands on / operational type role within the solar industry
Product knowledge and physical application thereof (fit a solar panel, crimp a cable)
Managerial experience (managing staff, reports, planning manpower etc)
English first language
Excel (spreadsheet work)
Technical background (must have physically worked on a site and know what the operational side entails and be able to do it if required to demonstrate)
Experience in running a site / project from inception through to handing it over to a client
Duties:
The PM will oversee all Assistant PM’s and Site Managers. Each site consists of 6-8 staff (this includes an experienced site manager)
Planning of projects from putting teams together, all logistics (vehicles, flights, equipment, planning of routes, accommodation)
Managing teams and deadlines, progress of work daily (excel)
Reporting back into the HOD on a daily basis, via spreadsheets on how far the project is etc
Ensuring all deadlines for projects are met.
Salary is R 25k - 30k plus commission.
Commission is R1000 for every successful and on time instillation of 100KW. (1 MW which they're currently doing is R 10k comm)
