Mandatory Requirements
• Willingness to work with Informal Traders in the Khayelitsha Area
• Must have a driver’s licence
• Must be able to work outdoors
• Must have experience with working with a variety of stakeholders

Key Accountabilities
• Project management
• Drive cross functional teams and lead the definition, scoping, planning and delivery of projects
• Effectively collaborate with the City’s internal business teams to develop and execute projects
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with business and functional team members to align objectives, resources and expectations
• Lead project status meetings to appraise all stakeholders of project progress, issues, challenges and risks.
• Manage project budget and resource allocation

Responsibilities 1. Programme and Project implementation
• Gathering statistical data for the projects
• Assisting with the business case development of the projects
• Creating awareness of the projects within the community
• Register the informal traders on the City’s permitting system
• Marketing the various workshops /information sessions with project beneficiaries
• Monitor the project progress with the service provider by conducting site visits, interviews with the beneficiaries and assessing the quality of the reports
• Provide regular project feedback to department’s management


2. Stakeholder Interface
Ensure that the district role-players are informed on the developments in the LED field. Ensure that these role-players actively participate and support the LED effort.

• Arrange and attend various stakeholder meetings, information sessions and project meetings
• Interface with various representatives of the service providers
• Develop a project plan for each project
• Develop a stakeholder matrix of internal and external stakeholders of a project.
• Communicate stakeholder developments with the department’s stakeholder advisor.
• Effectively collaborate with internal business teams to develop and execute project deliverables, detailed project plans, milestone charts and status reports.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with business and functional team members to align resources and expectations.

3. Administering the contract
• Receive and assess the scope of the project proposals received
• Arrange the Kick off meeting to assess that the scope of the work is understood
• Establish payment schedules to link payment to specific performance milestones.
• Facilitate the processing of the payments, establish requisitions for the contract timely
• Manage project budget and resource allocation.
• Carry out proper record keeping
• Respond to all enquiries from service providers.
