POSITION: Project Manager X 2 (5 yearFixed Term Contract)

REPORT LINE: General Manager: Engineering Services

MAIN PURPOSE OF POSITION
To manage project teams, in order to deliver project objectives within scope, time, cost and quality to optimally deliver on clients’ needs and expectations.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

? Provide effective project management through the 5 Project Management Process Groups of Initiating, Planning, Executing, Monitoring and Controlling through to Closing.
? Set up, monitor, and manage and ensure cost-effective utilization of operational and project budgets and resources.
? Deliver project deliverables according to scope, time, budget, quality aligned to client’s specifications and expectations.
? Provide monthly status and financial reports to clients and management
? Develop project plans, ensuring comprehensive coverage and specification of time deliverables and costs
? Continually monitor project deliverables against set project plan
? Report to project teams committee in respect of project progress against plans and resolution of problems
? Ensure the effective and optimal deployment of appropriate technology, in accordance with industry and standards
? Commission the technical testing of facilities and systems
? Manage the tender process, to ensure delivery according to specifications
? Ensure effective project communication and client relationship management
? Ensure sound administration in respect of all aspects of projects
? Appoint, manage and develop Project teams by tracking team member performance, providing feedback and resolving issued to optimise project performance
? Manage and control project risk on anon-going basis.
? Ensure compliance to policies, procedures and governance.
? Building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, Project Managers, and acting as an ambassador and point of advice.

REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:
? Experience of working in a project or delivery environment with the capacity to connect work streams and projects such that dependencies can be mapped and monitored.
? Experience of working with deliverables, tight deadlines and multiple interfaces. Able to implement a flexible approach to work, whilst maintaining a focus on delivery and high standards.
? Excellent organisational and planning skills combined with strong administrative skills.
? An intelligent and practical approach to all issues such that they are meaningful for a range of programme management and other governance bodies.
? Possess a collaborative, diplomatic, and enthusiastic approach and the ability to influence and manage a range of relationships in a complex environment.
? Excellent communication skills – written and oral, with the ability to manage detail as well as communicate a broad business perspective, eg translating project requirements into media-friendly language.
? Strong analytical skills and an understanding of data gathering and business analysis (for example, structuring business data in a meaningful way). Ability to turn around outputs rapidly (for example, the quick synthesis of information for an executive report).
? Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team to make things happen – turning ideas and strategy into tangible realities and outcomes and processes.

Desirable:
? Experience in environment or in a similar media organisation.
? Experience of working across multiple activities/projects for multiple managers.
? Knowledge of and experience of using, project planning tools.
? Use of project management methodologies and processes to deliver projects within budget and to specification.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

? Relevant 3 year Degree/Diploma or NQF level 6 project management qualification recognized/accredited by the Project Management Institute.
? 6 years’ experience in related activities in management and non-management activities.
? 5 years’ experience in project management standard (PMBOK and/or Prince II).
? 3 years managing projects in any of the related fields.
? Experience in implementing broadcast projects in the TV, Radio, IT and Real Estate field will be an added advantage.
