Role Title: Project Manager
International manufacturing company in Richards Bay is looking to employ a qualified and experienced Project Manager. MS Projects, SAP B1 & R3 knowledge required. Context:
Our client runs projects which need to be managed by a dedicated person to ensure the best result for the client in all aspects. Projects could exist in the repairable or service categories of the business. Feasibility, planning, negotiation, execution, hand-over and testing takes place at, but not limited to, our facility in Richards Bay.
This position includes regular travel to Mozambique, and work on sites where drug and alcohol use is prohibited.

Primary Purpose
The project manager will manage all key client projects with the goal of delivering every project on time, within budget and within scope.
Secondary requirements include marketing of the clients products and services, using engineering skills and experience for assisting with engineering solutions, and contribution to the technical team for the successful operation of the department.
Accountabilities
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and establishing technical and financial feasibility.
• Assist with project related commercial offers.
• Maintain monthly overview of services budget, monitor variations, and ensure cost control on projects, timely invoicing on services projects,
• Site preparation organised as per clients’ requirement.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
• Define and coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
• Contribute towards contractor vendor selection and approval.
• Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress.
• Ensure resource availability and allocation.
• Measure and report on project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Perform internal risk management to minimize project risks.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.

Problem Solving
• Implement a mitigation plan in order to reduce the risks during the installation phase.
• Assist site teams with decision making in terms of changes to scope, delays etc.
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
• Take all necessary actions to achieve contractual commitment.
• In case of identified hazards take necessary actions to report, eliminate the hazard or stop activities.
Key Relationships
• Maintain regular contact and a relationship with client end-users, ascertain needs, promote solutions, and develop business opportunities for subsidiary.
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
• Report and escalate to senior management as needed.
Internal / External Impacts
• Projects need to remain financially and technically viable. Projects impact company revenue, margins and operating costs, and thus form a key element of the business.
• Impacts to/from other departments need to be considered during the management of a project. For example warehouse operations, workshop facilities and tools, supply chain and finance.
• Resources from other departments might be used to plan, execute and hand over projects. Careful planning and negotiation with department managers is required.
• Company reputation depends on the successful managing and completion of projects.
Education & Qualifications
• Degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering fields.
• Degree or qualification in project management.
• ECSA registration advantageous.
Relevant Experience
• 5 Years’ practical experience in the field of engineering study.
• 2 Years’ experience in project management.
• Proven working experience in project management and organisational skills
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Projects.
• Marketing skills for identifying possible new projects and business opportunities.
• Technical knowledge in cranes or heavy machinery used in aluminium industry.
• Basic financial comprehension pertaining to budgets and job costing.
• Good understanding of principles of health, safety, environmental and quality in the workplace.
