Our clients are a financial advisory company and they are looking for an incumbent who can take full responsibility of the implementation of projects, as well as ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required standards. He/she will be expected to develop and implement cross cutting systems and procedures, identify and manage risks associated with project implementation, as well as ensure the efficient handover of all projects to clients and stakeholders upon completion or at the end of a contract period. This is an 8 month contract.

As Business Advisor, the Project Specialist will be responsible for providing a holistic mentoring and coaching services to SMMEs on an individual or group basis with the aim of improving company growth and sustainability. The scope of involvement in such businesses will include the fields of sales and marketing, financial management, human resources, business processes, administration and management. The project specialist will help improve SMMEs businesses through assessing weaknesses and recommending solutions coupled to an action plan to achieve those goals.

Key responsibilities:

Provide execution support on projects that the company is running

•Ensure that projects are sufficiently and efficiently implemented

•Review, implement and monitor operations to ensure industry best practices and legislative compliance

•Also lead the implementation of socio- supplier- and enterprise development projects

•Ensure prudent financial and budget management of all projects

•Engage with clients and manage client relationships

•Engage with all stakeholders and manage stakeholder relations

•Update project plans onto project management systems and manage timelines

•Write proposals and reports

•Develop and document products and services for development projects


Qualifications and experience required:

•Must hold a relevant qualification in economics, business or entrepreneurial studies

•Must have at least 5 years prior work experience at project management level and business advisory

•Experience in Enterprise and Supplier Development Programme design will be beneficial

•Experience as a small business owner will be an advantage, also sound knowledge and experience in small business development.

•Experience in business analysis and strategy development

•Experience in a finance related field – understanding and interpreting financial statements, small business finance management, costing and pricing, budgeting

•Must be passionate about economic and socio economic developmental issues

•Must have a continuous learning approach to life and work
