Our client, within the Automotive sector, seeks to employ a Promotions and Events Manager to be based in Sandton.

THE POSITION ENTAILS:

 

  • Organising and controlling all aspects of Dealer events and promotional activities to meet the required brand standards
  • Leading the development, planning and organisational process for all national and regional events in conjunction with the Marketing Communications Manager.
  • Orchestrating the implementation of event planning; and securing all/ any external support required (along with RFP’s. bidding etc.) in the execution thereof. Events include launches, sponsorships, dealer events, regional and national auto shows, driving experience, extended test drives and drive experiences, business meetings.
  • Liaising with any external event agencies in the implementation of event activities.
  • Organising merchandising and branding support at all promotions – national and dealer.
  • Identifying and actively sourcing opportunities that complement brand positioning and exposure.
  • Evaluating new promotional proposals and making recommendations to management where relevant.
  • Providing the monthly and annual Promotions/ Events Calendar containing all budgeted activities for the year.
  • Ensuring all promotions are cost efficiently tracked and managed within the allocated budgets.
  • Assisting other departments in upholding premium brand values when executing their own events.
 
 
 
 
 

 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE SHOULD:

 

  • Have a formal 3-year National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree from a recognised tertiary institution, preferably with majors in Marketing/ Communications. A postgraduate qualification will be considered advantageous.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years marketing experience in the motor industry, ideally within the following fields: Marketing, Communications and Public Relations.
    • Exhibit excellent organisation, planning and project-management skills, with high attentiveness to detail.
    • Demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of products and brand image/ values.
      • Display sound strategic, analytical and conceptual thinking capability.
    • Be able to use creativity and innovation in solving problems and use executive intelligence in organising resources effectively.
      • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills. Ability to listen and communicate effectively at all levels.
    • Be proficient in MS Office (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), with astute report preparation and presentation skills.
      • Have well-developed networking and customer relationship management skills; and be able to work in a team.
      • Present a strong customer focus concerning internal and external stakeholders.
      • Exhibit effective solution orientated conflict management and negotiation skills.
    • Be a results-driven self-starter with the ability to operate independently on own initiative.
    • Display operational understanding of financial principles and business acumen.
      • Have the ability to manage parallel projects / deadlines simultaneously and operate effectively under pressure.
      • Show a high level of energy, enthusiasm and work commitment; be willing to work overtime when required.
    • Be prepared to undergo the relevant psychometric assessments in consideration for the position.
