Public Relations Specialist

The successful individual for this role will be highly adaptable to change, always open to new ideas, handles pressure very well, and can adjust to meet ever-changing needs.

They will need to demonstrate a full understanding of the consumer media landscape including drafting pitches and press releases, ensuring that the appropriate audiences are reached, and be adept at maintaining media relations and working with them on story angles and generating coverage.

Some duties will I include:
• Formulate PR plans and strategies
• Enhance the company’s voice and presence through online and offline channels
• Manage media relations and requests
• Write press releases, speeches and other PR copy
• Plan and supervise events, fairs, conferences etc.
• Support the implementation of promotional plans
• Present solutions in times of PR crisis
• Facilitate the resolution of disputes with the public or external vendors
• Lead survey initiatives and analyze public opinion

Essential requirements to be met for this role:
- Completed Degree in Journalism/Communications/Public Relations etc
- Minimum of 4 years Public Relations experience
- Excellent Communication (verbal & written) & Interpersonal skills
- Good relationship with the media with a proven contact list
- Excellent presentation & public speaking skills
- Solid experience in project management & execution of PR campaigns
- Young, determined, on-the-ball with excellent ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment
