POSITION : PUBLIC SECTOR TENDER AND SUPPLIER MANAGER

JOB OBJECTIVE
• Tender submission and execution
• Supplier Strategy, negotiations, relationships

TASK DESCRIPTION

Strategy
• Ensure business growth through directing and managing business operations activities to ensure these are delivered in accordance with the organizational strategy
• Set Public Sector Supplier strategy, by ensuring appropriate and sufficiently registered suppliers, updating costing of producers and API
• Assist MD and other managers with the overall business strategic objectives and business plan
• Ensure the organization’s government strategy is embedded in the procurement process. To align with the SA business on preferential procurement initiatives

Execution
• Develop and maintain strategic alliances/partnership with Commercial Partners and source new suppliers for continuous business improvement and to ensure continuous product availability to meet marketing and sales requirements
• Price negotiations and margin management
• Analyze, plan, organize, lead and control multiple projects efficiently and effectively to manage the performance of the Public sector operations
• Responsible for managing the operational functions of tender submissions, including pricing analysis, preparation of samples, collections.
• Provide operational strategies and timelines for product availability to meet marketing and sales requirements
• Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
• Participate in costing activities for products to meet pricing goals for the market, either private or tender in relation to competitor prices

Management and Communication
• Ensure effective coordination between sales team and operations team
• Work in close collaboration with supply chain function both inbound and outbound; as well as Commercial team on budgets and forecasts in the achievement of commercial targets for public sector and Regulatory team for all needed regulatory and quality aspects to ensure achievement of targets
• Implement, maintain and manage an effective system of controls and reporting. Implement data management system to capture key information and ensure organizational continuity


EDUCATION AND KEY EXPERIENCE
• Business Management and/or Pharmaceutical Qualification
• Experience in Tender Management and supplier relationships
• Understanding of other Pharma departments of the business (finance, regulatory, production, QA, QC, sales and marketing) & generic pharmaceutical market
• Knowledge of the requirements to import and export pharmaceuticals
• Proven track record in managing profitability
• Ability to work cross functionally, and to engage productively with other functions within the business
• Ability to think and act strategically and have a sound sense of sales and business principles using these to coach and lead direct reports
• Planning, organizational, Interpersonal, Communication skills
• Ability to delegate authority and responsibility
• Ability to Analyse problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations in support of goals
• Ability to analyze, organize, and communicate complex strategies and data (pricing and supply)
