What the person must be able to do:

This role is in the Electronics Distribution sector. All duties would take place in this context.

* Optimise Buying Strategy
* Margin Retention and Maximisation through Negotiation
* Comparative Pricing Benchmarks & Pricing Optimisation
* Purchasing Forecasting
* Expedite Orders and Ensure On-time Delivery - Local & International
* Reporting: Redundant Stock, Slow moving Stock, Stock Takes, Customer Repairs

Key Job Deliverables:

* Stock on Time in Sufficient Quantity
* Maximise Stock GP at Minimal Resell Price
* High Quality Stock that Sells - Correct Selection of Stock

Background work experience:

* 5 years Distribution Purchasing Management
* 3 years Purchasing Forecasting, Planning and Scheduling
* 3 years Supplier Selection and Evaluation
* 3 years Expediting
* NDip / Degree Purchasing or Equivalent
* Strategic Understanding of Purchasing
* Management of a Purchasing Team for a distributor/reseller with critical Stock requirements
* Setting up purchasing schedules in collaboration with the sales director/manager
* Identifying critical and backup suppliers - NB. Evaluation/Knowledge of supplier product quality, reliability and costs.
* Ensuring that orders are delivered on time. Managing the freight and logistics processes. Working with Freight Forwarding companies. Customs issues.
* Advantageous: Specific Expertise in Electronic Security Systems
