This position will manage and lead a team of Senior Buyers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 12 / Matric (non-negotiable)
• A Purchasing Management qualification is desirable
• Must have a minimum of 6 years’ experience in an FMCG environment
• Must have 5 years of managerial experience in a Buying department
• Direct team management experience is a pre-requisite
• Excellent market knowledge of a supplier base is a plus
MAIN DUTIES:
• Achievement of sales, stock levels and gross profit targets
• Ensuring product pricing competitiveness against competitors and budgeted retail margins to members
• Delivering on the defined service levels to retailers through rapid adaptation to customer needs
• Development of internal controls to manage and report on all buyer key performance areas
• Driving product development and other initiatives
• Management of the performance of suppliers from a pricing, product and service level aspect
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

• Commercially and economically minded
• Solid understanding of commodity market
• Energetic/passionate individual who understands buying, trading & the economy(within the Retail industry)
SALARY PACKAGE:
• R50,000 – R60,000 CTC (depending on qualifications & experience)
