1. Maintaining the purchasing policy and ensuring that all purchases adhere to it.

2. Choosing the suppliers that the company will deal with and maintaining the legal interaction with them.

3. Managing any agreements that may be in place between the suppliers and the company and controlling the suppliers’ service and/or product quality.

4. Evaluating staff recruitment needs, facilitating training and supervision, and liaising with the human resources department.

5. Liaison with other departments, particularly the accounting, manufacturing, sales and stock departments.

6. Budgeting, costing and cost saving after reviewing the management information available.

7. Overseeing any large procurement that may happen.

8. Collate purchase orders and purchase requisitions in order to order materials, goods and supplies, and duly send them to suppliers

9. Review inventories and order as required.

10. Interact with the suppliers on a continuous basis as required.

11. Review deliveries against the orders.

12. Track the status of all orders.

13. Deal with non-supplied items/ orders, under/over stated orders, and damaged goods.

14. Ensure that all invoices are approved by management and sent to accounting department for payment.

15. Compile and maintain all reports (e.g. purchase orders spreadsheets, stock count, etc.).

16. Manage any procurement activities including RFP’s (Request For Proposals).

17. Generally help out with smaller purchases, reviews and inventory matters.

18. Perform other duties reasonably assigned by management.
