Remuneration:
R 20 000+ per month Cost to Company (CTC)

Purpose of the Job:
To be responsible for the operations, maintenance, commissioning and repair of PV plant

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Employee will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, and repair of PV Plant.
• To be able to Performs predictive, corrective and preventive activities to ensure maximum plant availability which includes:
o Troubleshooting complicated mechanical -, hydraulic -, and electrical problems on trackers, inverters, PV panels, transformers, and switch gears.
o Perform all mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical components maintenance, repair or replacement of parts to correct malfunctions.
o Performs all mechanical and electrical components testing and ultimately repairing of said components.
• Be able to perform some diagnostic electrical, mechanical and/or hydraulic analysis.
• Perform tasks as directed by immediate supervisor or customer’s PV Plant manager or his designee
• Help in all areas of site operations as directed by manager with minimal supervision.
• Follow Safety Instructions, conduct field work in compliance with OSHA and applicable regulations and encourage good employee safety practices
• Conducts training lessons as needed to enhance other employee’s technical knowledge.
• Able to work up to 60 hours per week if needed to meet project schedules.
• Must be able to document all work performed using computer based service reporting procedures.

Requirements:
• 2 years’ experience as a PV plant technician related to O&M or commissioning activities
• Knowledgeable with DC and AC Electricity, and Electronics Around 1500 volts or less
• Familiarity with Voltage Testers, Multi-meters, Amp Clamps, Oscilloscopes, Meghommeters, Infrared Testers, Voltage Test Procedures, Lock Out Tag Out, Electric Static Discharge (ESD), Hydraulics, Accumulator Charging, Crane Hand Signals, Soldering, Fasteners, Torquing, Hytorques, Fiber Optics,
• First Aid, CPR and Tower Rescue

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
• Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Ability to train other employees in operation and maintenance procedures.
• Must have valid driver’s license.
• Overtime is involved to meet project deadlines as needed.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics diagrams
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical diagrams such a motor/generator mounting, cabinets’ layout components, etc.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Basic computer proficiency such as Word, Excel, Outlook
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Spanish oral & written proficiency (Not Required but a Plus)
• Must be physically fit to lift up to 35Kg
• Perform basic office and computer Literacy
• Must be able to hear adequately in order to work safely in a construction environment
• Able to work up to 60 hours per week if needed to meet project schedules.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS: (Academic degrees, languages, other informal knowledge, etc.)
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED with 2 year Technical Training.
• Preferred candidate will have:
1. Knowledge and/or application of Power Electronics
2. Industrial Electrical, Electronics or Electromechanical Technician
• Driving Records: Must have a valid driver’s license
• Read and interpret technical manuals, procedures and regulations
