Job Title QC Manager
Department Quality Control

Purpose of Position
• To direct and control the implementation and management of the company’s Quality
• Control Systems in order to ensure that products meet the required quality standards.

Principle of Accountabilities
• Oversee laboratory analyses and advise on any issues (non-routine non-conformances) which arise
• Review and sign off on all procedures and modifications
• Sign off documentation which is to be communicated to customers from the QC department (COA’s, MSDS’s, complaint reports, etc)
• Manage and develop the Quality Control team within the principles of manufacturing excellence to achieve the full potential of individuals to meet the needs of the business
• Oversee and report on stability tests on all new or modified formulations and/or packaging
• Assess quality operations staffing and skills requirements and address needs
• Manage industrial relations in Quality Control by conducting consistent and fair work practice to maintain a productive IR climate and optimise employee relations
• Implement and maintain good Health and Safety standards at all times to prevent injury to persons or damage to plant and equipment.
• Ensures all emergency procedures, first aid facilities, safety signs, relevant PPE and incident reporting is in place and functioning in the relevant area
• Performs regular health and safety audits and training on site to ensure compliance with
OH&S Act
• Develop specifications and quality standards for raw materials, WIP and final products and ensure that these are adhered to, so that uniformity in inspection, analysis and processing methods are achieved
• Monitor quality standards of the manufacturing process and products so that defective items are identified, restrained and reworked where possible.
• Develop and maintain manufacturing and quality systems to establish standards related to activities and products, measuring and correcting performance as required
• Responsible for the processing of all complaints. Internal and external.
• Responsible for the investigation and effective conclusions on all CANPAN’s (Corrective and preventative actions).
• Conducting spot checks on production and filling qc functions.
• Liaising with the R&D department with regards unusual adjustments
• Liaising with the Compounding supervisor and production planner regarding current testing of manufactured bulks.
• Providing the General Manager with updates as required. Remaining up to date with everyday operations in the laboratory

• Meeting customers order requirements on time, with correct quantity and quality of product

• Management and development of staff to ensure manufacturing procedures are carried out correctly

• Authorised to stop manufacturing line if product does not conform to specifications
• Authorised to stop all activities in the plant if deemed unsafe for operations

Education, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Education
• A relevant tertiary degree
Experience
• 4 – 6 years quality control experience of which at least 3 years should be in a management role
• High level leadership and decision making skills
