QlikView Systems Support Administrator - Technology Centre of Excellence. R400k. Braamfontein. Strictly EE position. *
 
Purpose of the job
The primary responsibility of this role would be to assist in all aspects of daily operations within the Qlikview environment which includes account and resource management, backup and recovery, server hardware and software monitoring, maintenance and upgrades. Work closely with multiple teams for the deployment, configuration and support to any new or existing applications on Qlikview.
 
Key Accountabilities
  • Responsible for the implementation, administration and support of the Qlikview systems suite of products (Qlikview Developer, Qlikview Server, Publisher and Qlikview Management Console and Nprinting)
  • Manage day-to-day operations
  • In depth knowledge of Windows servers and settings, networks, databases and other IT infrastructure.
  • User and server license management
  • Server performance and health monitoring
  • Hardware sizing and capacity planning
  • Data source configuration and maintenance
  • Maintaining server logs and Qlikview Logs
  • Install and configure Qlikview Server and Publisher
  • Nprinting : Install, Configure and Support Nprinting software
  • Manage user and data security for all Qlikview applications
  • Backups and restores
  • Testing : App refreshes, Security and Functionality
  • Assist developers with troubleshooting
  • Engage with Qlikview South Africa on regular basis
  • Understand business processes, how the application supports the business
  • Participate in overall architecture and strategy for the deployment of Qlikview suite products.
  • Research and recommend alternative actions for problem resolutions
  • Effectively communicate with clients and internal teams
  • Maintain knowledge on the latest BI technology and best practices
  • Incident and change management tools
 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or Business related discipline is preferred. Equivalent combination of experience and education will also be considered. Completion of pertinent certification(s) and / or an advanced degree preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 3+ years Qlikview experience including installation/configuration, administration and support
  • Minimum 3+ years working with Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 2012
Knowledge
  • Experience with Qlikview version 11 preferred
  • Experience with Nprinting Server and Designer
  • Working knowledge or database platforms like Oracle and MS SQL Server
  • Strong experience with Business Intelligence concepts and patterns (Dashboards, Analytics, Predictive Analytics, Metadata)
  • Understand Qlikview migration processes and flows (Deployments from Development through to Production)
  • Knowledge of QlikSense a plus
  • Using Remedy Incident and Change Logging System
