The Quality Control system is maintained in order to meet company and customer standards.
Variances from Quality standards of components are identified and reported.
Causes of deviation from standard are established and corrected.
Customer complaints are investigated and corrective action initiated.
Produce reports on causes of failure and required actions required actions.
Scrap and rework targets are achieved.
Ensure dimensional measuring equipment is calibrated at due intervals.
Ensure swift turnaround times on support tests and measurements for special processes.
Review all quality trends and metrics and make recommendations for improved focus.
Ensure Inspectors are fully trained and Skills Matrix updated.
Ensure 5S is practised at the workstations.
Bought-out materials and finished goods are inspected according to inspection instructions and records maintained.
Out of specification findings are reported immediately.
Rejected product is quarantined.
Supplier is informed of concern via Purchase Planning Clerk.
Defective material reporting to be appropriately circulated.
Walk the manufacturing floor on a regular basis to establish HSE presence and provide support.
Conduct daily and monthly HSE Meetings/Trainings and schedule as needed.
Write, implement, and manage HSE Programs, Policies and Procedures
Perform facility HSE Inspections
Ability to evaluate PPE and ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE
Have knowledge and enforce compliance of Regulatory requirements (i.e. OHS ACT, EPA, etc.),
Ability to oversee Hazardous Waste Storage area and ensure regulatory agency compliance i.e. labeling,
containment, proper disposal, documentation, etc.
Perform Storm Water Discharge sampling and document events
Assist in emergency response and provide first aid treatment.
Oversee Behavior Based / Observation Safety Programs.
To meet ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 requirements

Grade 12 with a recognized QSHER systems related and/or tertiary technical qualification
Quality and Mechanical Engineering qualifications
Senior supervision experience in a similar position and in the automotive industry. (Engine components experienced)
Computer literate with extensive to MS-Office and Lotus Notes
