Job Purpose:

Perform welding and related activities of sound quality, on Piping and other materials, by using different welding processes, according to Company, Quality and Client specifications.

Key Duties:

• Responsible for the Welding and Fabrication of different Piping and Welding Material by using acceptable welding techniques and practices.
• Assist with the fitting and installing of different types of steel products.
• Responsible to ensure the suitability of welding equipment and planning of the layout and assembly of the welding & pipe fitting process.
• Responsible for the Testing of material, welding and fittings by using agreed measurement processes. (Pre and Post Welding and Pipe Fitting)
• Responsible for the Setting up of Welding Equipment and Weld Parts as well as the suitability thereof.
• Responsible for the following of the Work Procedure Specification, sequence and parameters as per applicable project/Works Number.
• Ensure weld inches are in line with the daily acceptable targets.
• Continuous minimizing of weld repairs.
• Ensure adherence to weld repair instruction.
• Identify problems (fault finding) and advise on possible appropriate actions to reduce weld defects, and job inaccuracies.

Key Requirements

• 4 – 5 Year experience as a Welder within a related industry.
• Possess a Red Seal Welding Qualification.
• Qualified in the different welding techniques/procedures being practiced at the company.
• Keen interest in the Welding and Pipe Fitting Environment.
• Be able to communicate, read and write effectively in the English language.
• Be able to render satisfactorily employment reference from previous projects/employers.
