Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Location: Mozambique


My client is headquartered in Pretoria, South Africa. They own and operate maize mills, wheat mills, an oilseed-crushing, extraction, and refining plant, as well as animal feed manufacturing plants spanning across all animal categories. Outside of our core business in South Africa, we are invested in a cassava processing operation (expanding across West Africa), a poultry operation in Mozambique, and are assessing other investment opportunities across the continent.


They Currently have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified, well-motivated and driven individual to fill a role of Quality Assurance Manager at their DADTCO operation in Mozambique.


Minimum Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Engineering / quality assurance / Food Technology or microbiology
• Experience of leading a team
• Background in implementation quality systems.
• Understanding of English and Portuguese advantageous
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in food processing
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a quality function


Critical Elements:

• Implementation of quality management systems in manufacturing operations (own and co-manufacturers) and monitor / audit its effectiveness.
• Establish a documented quality management system containing process descriptions, procedures and responsibility matrices.
• Establish a transparent and complete system of quality records to demonstrate compliances
• Organise and lead the quality management function in the business.
• Train and develop quality professionals in the QA department and manage resource needs. Ensure all necessary training in quality are done.
• Promote and develop a quality awareness culture, based on continuous improvement.
• Set up and maintain crises management procedures.
• Effectively liaise with officials of standard enforcing agencies, authorities and external parties in the area of quality management.
• Ensure work place safety and effective communication of Safety, Health and Environment to all team members.
