This exciting opportunity has become available in Newcastle within the Product Technology Team. We are looking for a resilient, efficient and self-motivated Audit Supervisor who will assess product quality risk at source, facilitate third party product audits and develop in-line factory inspections processes through in-house training, in support of the Company’s strategy. The Head Office is in Cape Town.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

To proactively evaluate, implement and facilitate in-line and off-bulk product inspection practices at new and existing local suppliers in accordance with Company strategy.
To maintain in-line and off-bulk inspection service level agreements through seasonal correlation processes in accordance with Company strategy.
To (reactively) facilitate immediate corrective action plans, both in-line & off production, to ensure on-time delivery of quality products.
To perform all bulk production inspection activities at local suppliers, as well as in-stores, in accordance with Company strategy.
To complete, maintain and present captured data, administrative reports and presentations.

KNOWLEDGE required:

General knowledge of acceptable garment construction and company quality standards
AQL knowledge
Fabric knowledge / product knowledge including footwear and lingerie
Industrial / manufacturing knowledge
SKILLS required:

Excellent command of the English language
Proficiency in an African language will be an advantage

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Essential:

A Grade 12 Certificate/Matric
Preferred:

Diploma in Clothing Management or equivalent
LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential:

Minimum of 5 years’ clothing manufacturing experience (preferably in a sample room / on a production floor)
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a clothing factory working very closely with the manufacturing side of the business including production floor & garment engineering department
Exposure to dyeing, printing and finishing processes
Exposure and / or experience in quality auditing
Exposure to general retail practises/processes
Experience in garment fit and measuring requirements
Experience in assessing samples and advising on fittings & technical findings Working experience on relevant Computer programs
Additional experience needed for safety practices in infants & children’s wear
Preferred:

Exposure to automation / manufacturing machinery
Experience in garment manufacturing and pattern making & grading
Exposure to Pressing, Ironing and Fusing
OTHER SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS

Valid driver’s license / VISA / passport with no criminal record Own reliable transport
