QUALITY CONTROL ANALYST JOB VACANCY
DUTIES
• Resample product when required
• Accurately and precisely prepare labelled, hand-shaken QC retain test sample of required dosage in the correct polymer
• Accurately and precisely perform ashing tests, density determinations, or organize for completion of extraction analysis on samples to determine the chemical composition and physical and chemical properties of batch samples.
• Assist with accurately and precisely preparing labelled, hand-shaken Colour Match trial test sample mixes
• Injection mould uniformly coloured, appropriately sized, and cleanly moulded plaques of retain test samples
• Extrude uniformly coloured film of required clarity, thickness and width from retain test samples
• Prepare appropriately sized, uniform PVC crepes using a two-roll mill from retain test samples
• Visually and physically inspect moulded plaques, extruded film and PVC crepes to ensure conformance to requirements
• Visually and physically inspect product for non-conformity including: visual uniformity, fines, strands, longs, moisture, contamination, metal, and incorrect pellet size or cut.
• Use visual and spectroscopic analysis on moulded plaques, film and crepes to analyse colour, dispersion, development and precision in adhering to formulation compared to respective standard
• Use gravimetric analysis to measure sample moisture content
• Take decisions on approval or rejection of batches based on test results
• Capture test results and/or job status on job card, product packaging and QC computer software programs
• Approve or reject product batches using QC computer software programs

• Raise a Non-conformance Report
• Use first level Root Cause Analysis techniques to complete Fishbone diagrams and 5 Why Analysis reports
• Confirm QC results of NCP by retesting and analysing test results of product.
• Analyse nature of non-conformance and test potential solutions to problems.
• Refer adjustments, approval or rejection decision to Laboratory Team Leader and/or Laboratory Manager for more complex non-conformance occurrences
• Prepare injection moulded plaques, extruded film or PVC crepes of lab trial samples
• Use visual and/or spectroscopic analysis to test colour and dispersion of lab trial test samples compared to respective standard
