Our client in PIETERMARITZBURG (KZN) is looking for a highly motivated and experienced QUALITY CONTROL INSPECTOR for their Quality team.

The QC Inspector position is responsible for inspection of small volume/ high quality automotive components in a production manufacturing environment.

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Production Engineer, the Quality Inspector performs functions associated with daily operations including, but not limited to,

inspection of incoming parts and components,
verification of rework performed by others, and
maintaining and distributing various reports
This position interacts closely with the Quality and Engineering teams and requires the use of sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate data. This role will also assist in the assessment and documented results of quality assurance and control processes.

Nature of Duties:

Performs incoming inspection of parts and components, recording results
Maintains quality records and documents verifying conformance to specifications
Unloads and sorts parts appropriately
Assists Production Engineer in adherence to quality standards
Maintains and disposes of non-conforming product
Performs final audit of internal and external finished product prior to shipment to customer
Supports with problem solving and continuous improvement
Reports all concerns to Production Engineer immediately
Provides support to all areas of the quality department as necessary, which may include containment,line inspection, etc.
Knowledge of ISO 9001 practises within a quality control environment

Education and Skills:

High School diploma or equivalent desired
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills required
Attention to detail is key
Safety minded, reliable, precise and self-motivated required
Ideal candidate will have 2 years prior quality control experience in a manufacturing environment
