QUALITY CONTROL SUPERVISOR - FOOD PACKAGING

Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in inspecting and testing of goods in progress and manufactured goods.
Compile and review quality assurance instructions.
Ensure company employees adhere to SHE rules.
Investigate customer complaints, respond and resolve all issues.
Writes up new inspection procedures for new and current components.
Inspects all products and ensures the products meet quality standards.
Liaise with Quality Controllers, Supervisors and machine setters and check daily check sheets.
Attend meetings related to quality, production and safety.
Control scrap records.
Performs other duties as prescribed under Quality Supervisor and tasks given by the Quality Manager.
General tasks include:
Weighing of products
Quality checks on machines
Closing boxes
Ensure correct labels are being used - check on Job card
Help with scanning
Work closely with supervisor to ensure factory is running most effectively
Report any discrepancy to shift supervisor, production manager and quality manager at earliest indication .
100 % visual and dimentional inspection as per customer requirements.
If requested by customer Certficate of Conformance or Final Acceptance must be shipped with product.
All records and sheets to be handed to Quality Manager at the end of shift.
Ensure conformance to packaging prior to shipment to the customer.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Matric
Candidates must have experience with ISO 22000 and 9001.
Candidates must be computer literate and have worked with Excel, Word and Outlook.
Candidates must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and be comfortable to work in wide variety of environments.
Abilty to develop and organize and acceptance of responsibility.
At least 5 years’ relevant experience
Own Transport
Good working knowledge and experience in a production environment
General Quality Management Skills
Knowledge of business principals
