Job Description

Manage systems for sustaining FSSC, AIB and all other certifications.
Manage document control, internal audits and the Corrective and preventive action system.
Manage IPS Quality standards for the site
Lead the site on Quality wall including training
Maintain plant according to AIB, CRP and HACCP standards
Manage CCP’s by ensuring metal detector procedures are followed.
Takes full accountability for the HACCP program (including implementation, maintaining and all staff training)
Manage and conduct self-inspections and follow-up on all non-conformances noted.
Ensure that the HACCP / Food Safety programme is functional and rectify any non-conformances arising from it.
Ensure that the Plant meets AIB standards as laid out in the AIB guidelines.
Ensure that the Plant is maintained in a clean and hygienic manner and that all GMP’s are adhered to at all times as laid down in the Frito Lay manual.
Ensure that plant adheres to Food Safety rules at all times resulting in a hygienically clean plant with staff adhering to all GMP’s
Manage the Food Safety budget, including all contract payments
Control QA and plant expenses by staying within the Sanitation budget
Manage all outside contracts related to the Food Safety Program (including pest control, sanitation and outside cleaning companies)
Prepare cleaning schedules/boil-outs and ensure all equipment is cleaned according to schedule (supervise weekend work if necessary).
Periodically review the master cleaning schedules and ensure they are updated as per plant cleaning requirements.
Arrange for microbiological samples to be taken as per schedule and ensure all non-conformances are rectified.
Implement all best practices with regards to the CRP programme.
Ensure a pest free Plant by working in conjunction with the site pest control company. Organize any additional treatments, which may be required to ensure a pest free environment.
Oversee the Laundry and Auxiliary services to ensure that staff facilities are maintained in a hygienic state and staff adhere to clothing regulations as laid down in the CRP programme.
Implement all best practices with regards to the CRP programme so as to achieve the CRP KPI of <90% Green and no reds
Facilitate staff training sessions i.e. Food Safety programme, HACCP and any other related courses that the company may deem necessary.
Order all relevant chemicals required for plant cleaning and supervise the usage and application thereof.
Oversee all boil-outs done over weekends and other times by Simba and cleaning company personnel.
Allergen Management on site.
Ensure Health and Safety is adhered to at all times.
Engage with projects team to ensure Food Safety is maintained in all proposed changes / modifications.
Support the Consumer Complaints process.
Ensure Food Safety induction is provided to all relevant personnel.
Assist QA Manager with special projects #LI-SSA

Qualifications/Requirements

Relevant three year tertiary qualification e.g. in Food technology / Microbiology
2 years’ Experience in Food, Beverage and Manufacturing Management
Technical / Microbiological knowledge
Knowledge of SAP and LIMS knowledge advantageous
Computer Literate in Excel, MS Office and Power point
