Our client, an FMCG food manufacturing concern in the Midrand area, is looking to employ a Research and Development Technologist. Join this vibrant young team in ensuring the on-going growth of this strong product brand!
The R&D (Research & Development) Technologist is responsible for aiding in the development of new products, research of new ingredients applicable to the field and its successful application in final product, sourcing of new raw materials, evaluation of flavours and new raw materials, compiling nutritional information for labelling of products, and contributing to innovation in the R&D team.
Minimum requirements
Matric / Grade 12 Senior Certificate.
B. Sc. Degree in Food Science (no B. Tech. degrees will be considered).
Minimum 3 years’ work experience in food development, food processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions is essential. (Solid in-service training will count, but specifically in a food or ingredient environment).
An analytical mind with strong math skills.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Good computer literacy.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities – Afrikaans and English.
Attention to detail, reliable and accurate.
High level of technical aptitude – an ability to learn new technical systems and tools quickly.
Ability to work under pressure and a willingness to work to tight deadlines while managing multiple projects.
Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
Valid driver’s license and own vehicle.
Salary offered is R180 000 CTC per annum, plus quarterly incentive on meeting Critical Performance Measurements. The company offers a pension fund.
