Provide support and advice to internal clients on all generalist HR-related queries while responsible for recruitment, employment relations and performance management processes, delivering a positive and ethical service to the Leisure business.

Skills, experience & educational requirements

• At least four years of HR experience
• Tertiary level HR qualification with sound knowledge of employment law
• Working knowledge of the Labour Relations Act, Employment Equity Act, Basic Conditions of Employment Act and Sectoral Determination 14
• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel & PowerPoint in particular), and Outlook as well as HR software systems
• Able to respond to difficult situations with diplomacy and understanding, bound always by integrity and sound ethical principles

Job Description
• Champion the ER function by supporting line managers on all paperwork, process and meetings, managing central records of grievance, disciplinary and corrective actions (up to and including the enquiry process), ensuring correct and fair procedures are followed at all times.
• Manage full recruitment process from planning and competency assessment to interviews and on-board processing, engaging with agencies and individuals as necessary, while working within the parameters of and applying employment equity and job creation strategies.
• Assist with succession planning, assessment and performance review processes, capturing and processing information as required.
• Engage with labour, payroll and other systems consultants professionally and with service orientation in mind when resolving queries, reporting issues or getting advice on any business matters.
• Liaise with HR Administrator on all procedural and administrative requirements, including paperwork and data collation for HRMI and Sustainability Reporting
• Manage and maintain all recruitment, performance review/ appraisal, and scorecard registers, dealing with providers, managers and stakeholders as necessary.
