Well known Supermarket Chain Group is seeking an experienced Regional Buyer to join their expanding team in Athlone, Cape Town. The buyer will be responsible to plan and effect buying strategies as he or she develops, sustain and monitor supplier listings. Ensure that all buying falls within the parameters set by the company policies, procedures and code of conduct. Working hours will be Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm and Saturday 8am to 1pm. The Regional Buyer may be required to work store hours when doing store visits.

Skills and Experience required:
- Must have matric, Diploma or Degree in Mathematics or Accounting would be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years’ retail supermarket management experience in Buying and Marketing.
- Essential to have Communication skills, Human Relations Skills, Negotiating Skills, Be Proactive, Quick Thinker, Problem Solving Skills, Delegation, Team Player, Attention to Detail.
- Ability to use Outlook email, Ms word and Excel
- Analytical (Flair for figures).
- Understanding culture of Chain Supermarkets and Central Buying & Planning.
- Stock control, Merchandising and Floor Control
- Product and supplier knowledge

Salary negotiable depending on experience
