To assume responsibility for the Balance sheet and Income statement on a regional level for Business and Commercial Banking, including retention and acquisition of the client base within the region through the effective management of the Business Centres, Business managers and Account Executives.

Relevant business related tertiary qualification e.g. B.Com compulsory or post graduate degree is advantageous

Leadership and Management skills training e.g. MDP, Leadership Development Programme is an advantage

Thorough knowledge and understanding of features, benefits and value propositions of Mercantile Bank's offerings

Thorough conceptual knowledge and understanding of the principles and practices of business economics and the current business economic environment

An in-depth current knowledge and understanding of different industry sectors and sector risk profiles/ trends

A thorough in-depth knowledge and understanding of Managing Local Market (MLM) Sales principles and practices to manage and optimise retention and growth within the region

Financial Acumen: Financial Modeling capability, activity based costing, financial analysis (evaluating and identifying trends), complex cash flow cycles (industry/ sector specific)

Solid financial understanding and ability to read, interpret, assess and question financial statements, management accounts, budgets, debtors and creditors lists, cash flows, comments of financial analysts, industry trends etc for clients across industries

Good knowledge of general banking practices and procedures

A thorough working knowledge of products typically associated within the Business Banking environment and associated pricing structures
