Regional Skills Advisor
Fixed Term Contract until 31 March 2016
Salary: R481 505 per annum.
An innovative and dynamic SETA is currently looking for a Regional Skills Advisor to support, Facilitation of processes such as partnerships and Discretionary Grants (GE) award applications.

Key performance areas
• Liaise with Stakeholders: Advise of Skills Development matters
• Assist with Work Skills Plans (WSPs) compilation
• Explain the function of SETAs
• Ensure that learnerships partner with Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs), Further Education and Training colleges (FETs), Higher Education and Training colleges (HETs), Community Based Organisations (CBOs) and non-levy-paying companies)
• Attend to dissemination of information at career exhibitions
• Assist companies to establish SDCs
• Facilitate training
• Advise on planning and legislative compliance
• Generate Request for Payment for Discretionary Grants timeously
• Conduct due diligence for the Discretionary grants award applications monitor & Evaluate Training Interventions
• Conduct on-going benchmarking and ensure continuous improvement
• Retain current stakeholder companies
• Recruit other companies’ that fall within auspices
• Manage movement of funds as per MOA deliverables and appropriate timeframes
• Visit companies, meet with learners and enquire about programs
• Make recommendations regarding payments
• Facilitate signing of payments
• Evaluate documents (with view of making payment)
• Check verification document
• Attend to reporting as required
• Assist stakeholders with the submission of WSPs, Annual Training Plans (ATRs), Pivotal Plans and reporting: Advise companies how to compile and submit reports
• Establish due diligence - whether the company has the capacity to deliver
• Assist stakeholders with the submission of WSPs, Annual Training Plans (ATRs), Pivotal Plans and reporting
• Attend to any other relevant and reasonable tasks as may be required

Education, Training and Experience
• A relevant Finance degree or Diploma, NQF level 6 qualification
• Certificate in Assessor and/or SDF training.
• At least 5 years’ experience in Skills Development/HRD environment
• A background in the Chemical Industry/Engineering/Manufacturing sector/s will be advantageous
• Industry experience as an artisan and/or other technical areas will be a strong advantage Exposure to the SETA environment.
• Knowledge: NSDS, Regulatory framework (SDA, SDLA, SAQA, QCTO, EE, BBBEE, FET, HET and PFMA)
• Knowledge of both the chemical sector and the National Qualifications Framework (NQF)
• Knowledge of SDF processes; Financial management; Report Writing
