Rehabilitation Unit Therapy Services Coordinator - East London

The minimum requirement for this position is a degree in any of the therapy professions. Experience in the rehabilitation field and with management of staff teams, is essential. Strong leadership qualities and interpersonal skills are required, as well as vision and tenacity to develop the rehabilitation function into a strategic advantage to the hospital. Results orientation, attention to detail, patient focus and excellent interpersonal skills are very important for this position. Computer proficiency. Driver’s license and ability to travel. Critical Outputs: Co-ordination of the acute rehabilitation therapy service. Assessment, development and maintenance of appropriate and intensive therapy programmes. Professional therapy service implementation in accordance with Hospital Healthcare protocols and procedures. Constructive liaison between the rehabilitation unit and other hospital functions. Staffing of therapy services according to unit needs. Staff management, motivation and development. Progress reporting to referral sources as per Hospital Healthcare Standards. Co-ordination of family and patient educational programmes. Close liaison with rehabilitation nursing team to co-ordinate service delivery. Active co-ordination of the Continuing Professional Development programme. Contribution to development of Standards and Procedures for the rehabilitation business
