Introduction:

The Release Manager is responsible for working closely with the business, development, quality assurance, and network operations teams to manage the releases throughout their development life cycle. This role ensures there is a structured, disciplined, and repeatable framework for the delivery of IT projects and programs. The release manager is central to the management and delivery of our key business systems and correspondingly, as a direct to consumer company, the overall customer experience.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain the release schedule for all development teams and ensure alignment across key

partners

• Track and communicate release issues, risks, schedule, activities, and status

• Identify, track, and report key release metrics (e.g. testing progress vs plan, etc..)

• Coordinates the use of development and test environments in support of the releases

• Manage multiple releases simultaneously

• Help resolve critical cross-group technical or project issues as they impact the release

• Conduct release readiness reviews, milestone reviews, and business go/no-go reviews as required

• Ensure all release documentation and milestones are completed prior to the release sign-off

• Ensure the release notes are kept up to date and reflect the release scope

• Works closely with QA and centres of excellence to identify, create and/or implement processes or

products to efficiently manage the release and testing of our applications

• Implement and utilize release management software and tools that allow teams to plan, manage and

control the release

• schedule and track the status of each release

• Build effective relationships with engineering leaders and key stakeholders

• Interact with other organizations and functional teams to identify and coordinate dependencies

between systems and to determine release requirements in pre/in/post release phases.

• Produce production deployment plan and coordinate support resources

• Manage release deployment communications (plan, status, issues)

• Lead and co-ordinate the go-live activities including the execution of the deployment plans and

checklists, and the triaging of any post-release issues

• Performs post-implementation process reviews and recommends process improvements

• Maintains a release repository and manages key information such as build and release procedures,

dependencies, and notification lists

• Experience growing and building a team or function

• Able to focus on the trees, while still considering the forest
