Our client, a leader in the aviation industry, is looking for a dynamic individual to take up the role of a Relocation Coordinator and become a part of their team.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• To facilitate the process of relocating the large amount of archival material of historical aircraft currently in the company to off-campus sites and to relocate the documentation of Configuration Management, together with documents of aircraft currently supported by the company to the A6 Building. These moves are in support of the company footprint reduction actions.
• • Consideration of the requirements of Act 43 of 1996, National Archives of South Africa Act, and adherence to it.
• • Liaison with the Manager: Engineering Support & Airworthiness regarding execution of SAAF instructions on the relocation of documents of historical SAAF aircraft & engines to SAAF premises, and on documents that would have to be destroyed.
• • drawing up of a Relocation Plan for the different categories of documents and for the relocation of Configuration Management to the A6 Building.
- The Relocation Plan would include preparation of the allocated areas to accommodate the documents and personnel,
- Execution of movements and rehabilitation of the vacated areas,
- The Plan is to be drawn up in conjunction with the Configuration Management Task Leader, and the Coordinator of the footprint reduction movements on campus.
• • Execution of the Relocation Plan
- Liaison with the Configuration Management Task Leader and with the Coordinator of the footprint reduction movements on campus,
- Contracting or Selection of four Configuration assistants to do the unpacking and repacking of documents, sorting of documents and generating indexes and/or lists for updating of eB’s meta data with eB system administrator,
- Assessment of documents with regard to technical or historical importance in cases where the document category or dispensation is unsure,
- Management of the relocation of all historical documents to a holding area and thereafter to the allocated SAAF premises. The extraction of the historical documents from the current four locations in the company and movement to a holding area is required before orderly relocation of all the other categories of documents can take place from these four locations to A6.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• • Senior person with proven experience in leading a team
• • Ability to coordinate the selection and appointment of Configuration assistants to form the project team
• • Knowledge of aircraft documentation types and classification categories
• • Basic knowledge of both historical and current SAAF aircraft & engines
• • Knowledge to assess engineering or historical importance of documents
• • Familiarity with Configuration Management principles Familiarity with the Configuration Management system/s and with the process of electronic and physical filing of documents
• • Essential to have a track record of being able to work methodically and systematically
• Ability to generate policies and procedures for execution of the project
• • Ability to train the project team to meet the project goals timeously
• • Essential to be able to work independently
• • Preferable to have Rooivalk aircraft systems knowledge and experience.
