Job Description
Set the organization’s pay structure and benefits offerings
Determine competitive wage rates and develop or modify compensation plans
Evaluate employee benefits policies to assess whether they are current, competitive, and legal
Monitoring salary structure and benefits at all times
Oversee the distribution of pay and benefits information to the organization’s employees
Prepare a program budget and keep operations within budget
Developing competitive benefit packages
Involved in negotiating with unions
Maintaining and developing employee record systems
Preparing and distributing information to employees
Accountable for the overall management of payroll and Human Resource administration as per the required standards.
HR information systems set up and maintenance whilst ensuring teams are trained correctly and continuously updating the HR database
Update HR information systems as well as performing quality audits on employee information with respect to job titles and department/ division transfers
Develop a consistent compensation philosophy in line with work culture and organisational objectives
Ensure that compensation practices are in compliance with current legislation (pay equity, human rights, etc)
Use various methods and techniques and make data based decisions on direct financial, indirect financial and nonfinancial compensations
Assess employees needs by conducting organisational psychology surveys at times to find out what motivates and engages employees
Participate in salary and labour market surveys to determine prevailing pay rates and benefits
Deploy effective communication strategies and success metrics
Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, issues and best practices
Conduct periodic audits and prepare reports
Minimum Requirements
Relevant HR Degree with Legal Exposure
Minimum 5 - 7 yrs HR experience or legal, with recent expertise in legal and governmental affairs
Extensive knowledge of legal requirements and regulations within the South African and Namibian mining industry
