My client, a leader in outdoor and airport advertising across the African continent is currently on the hunt for a Reporting Accountant to be based at their Head Office in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be reporting to Group Accountant responsible for Reporting.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENT:

• BCOM Accounting Degree
• 4 years financial accounting experience.
• Background in the Media Industry would be an advantage.
• Must have great attention to detail.
• Must be a team player.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be involved in the following:

1. Perform salaries calculations and ensure that all salaries are paid timely.
2. Ensure that the taxes, other statutory deductions are paid timely.
3. Perform VAT calculations and ensure compliance with the VAT legislation of each country to avoid payment of penalties and interest.
4. Prepare and submit the accurate VAT and the PAYE returns to the relevant tax authorities timeously.
5. Submit periodic statutory returns timely and ensure that the countries you are responsible for are compliant at all times.
6. Track and safeguard all company assets and their use and ensure they are being used only for company purposes that they were originally acquired for.
7. Maintain a complete and accurate fixed asset registers and perform monthly depreciation journals and disposal journals.
8. Make necessary provisions for all salary related provisions.
9. Prepare accurate monthly Health Reports for all countries responsible for within set deadlines also in liaison with other finance sections.
10. Assist with the preparation of the annual financial statements and assist with the audit of such annual financial statements where necessary.
11. Manage the Financial Assistants for the countries which you are responsible by ensuring that the FAs perform their duties as required in terms of their contracts of employment and services all Accountants as required.
12. Assist with the budget setting process.
13. Attend all necessary meetings within Finance Department or with other departments of the organisation and action any tasks raised from those meetings.
14. Monthly Health Reports in liaison with other Finance sections.
15. Preparation of Financial Statements for auditors and revenue authorities
16. Reconciling sub ledgers.
17. Prepare ad hoc reports as and when required by management.
18. Advise on cost cutting measures/suggestions.
