Reporting Accountant (Temp to Perm)

Leading fishing concern seeks to appoint an Accountant / Senior Bookkeeper with previous experience in a manufacturing environment. This is a 3 month contract position with the view to go permanent.
Commencement: ASAP

Requirements:

• An Accounting/Bookkeeping Diploma or equivalent will be advantageous.
• A minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience in a Retail or manufacturing environment with strong stock control systems (must have clear understanding of accounting stock systems).
• Strong Excel skills (Intermediate to Advance Level including Pivot tables and formulas).
• Strong problem solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform a full range of accounting functions which include but not limited to:
o Capturing of transactions
o Journal entries
o Reconciliations of general ledger
o Monthly management accounts
o Analysis of accounting records and management accounts to assess accuracy
• Reconciliations and schedules on:
o Sales
o Purchases
o Foreign exchange
o Stock
• Preparation of annual budget in conjunction with the Cost Accountant, Financial Manager and CEO.
• Monthly forecast incorporating actuals as well as budget
• Ensure that company complies with all statutory requirements.
• Any ad hoc functions that might be required
