A reputable firm of consulting engineers has an exciting opportunity for a Resident Engineer on a residential development project in Johannesburg.
Minimum Requirements:
•NDip / BTech/ BSc in Civil Engineering
•Minimum 8 years of experience as a RE or Site Agent
•Extensive experience in civil infrastructure, specifically road and concrete works.
•Experience in township development an advantage
•Knowledge of civil structures (roads, stormwater, sewer, and water)
•Ability to read and understand civil and structural drawings
Job Responsibilities:
•Monitor Contractors’ progress on site
•Refer major designs or engineering queries to the Design Engineer
•Apply relevant and applicable clauses of the New Engineering Contract to the project
•Ensure that the Contractor understands the obligations under the OHSA
•Assist with the Environmental Management of the Contractor’s work
•Manage material testing onsite and offsite
