Reports To:Hotel Manager and Owners of the establishmentPurpose:To achieve food and beverage revenue, profit and customer satisfaction goals by overseeing restaurantConstituents:GuestsEmployeesManagem ent teamThe local communityIndicators of Success:Achievement of customer satisfaction and loyalty goalsAchievement of revenue and profit goalsAchievement of employee satisfactionAreas of Responsibility:Participate in the development of the restaurant’s business strategies.Monitor status regularly and adjust strategies as appropriate.Create an environment for employees aligned with the company culture through constant communication and reinforcement.Communicate and reinforce the service vision for the restaurant to supervisors and employees.Create an environment at the restaurant designed to stimulate all senses through personal services, amenities and experiences provided by employees.Recruit and select the employees needed to provide the company experience.Keep current on pulse of the guests, constantly seeking opportunities to follow-up on their experience.Provide employees with the tools and environment they need to deliver the company experience.Develop and implement strategies and practices that support employee engagement.Coordinate the set-up of restaurant in accordance with the company’s standards.Confirm daily specials and new menu additions with the Executive Chef.Manage the food and beverage service provided; coach employees on effective service techniques.Inspect restaurant on an ongoing basis and take appropriate steps to ensure the facility meet or exceed company standards at all timesRespond to customer concerns in accordance with the company experience.Areas of ResponsibilityRequirements:Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a fine dining environmentSound knowledge of food and beverage / winesPassionate about service and able to interact with Guests to attend to suggestions, queries and complaintsHave very strong leadership and managerial skills and able to identify training needs and implement them accordinglyComputer literate in MS Office and PilotOwn transportIdeally live in StellenboschComfortable to communicate in English and Afrikaans
