Retail Analyst: Corporate Retail SA & Africa – Pod Lead

Location: Berea, Durban
Salary: R35k per month negotiable basic plus incentives

Purpose of the Role:
Produce an accurate, current and relevant core report library
Enhance thought-leadership positioning and entrench FMCG connectivity
Translate Research content into effective and relevant School of Retail and Consulting materials

Requirements:
5 – 10 years’ experience working in the SA food and grocery industry
Strong business acumen and critical thinking skills
Ability to take initiative and work independently if required
Resourceful problem-solving skills
Excellent organisation and management skills
Experience in motivating, mentoring and managing a team
Strong project management skills and the ability to manage own and team deliverables
Ability to extract insights and trends from data and information and comment on their implications for suppliers and manufacturers
Strong team ethos and the ability to work cross-functionally or across project teams in a flexible and collaborative way
Strong communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to write in a clear, concise and relevant reader-friendly style
Expert level skills in Excel, PowerPoint & Word
Second language desirable

Production, quality and delivery of the Retail Research Reports set and training material
Thought leadership insights to inform channel research content, marketing material and Website content
Industry Key Contact and Client Relationship Management
Build and maintain a network of contacts which will benefit research quality and deliver the Research & School of Retail sales targets
Continual product and service improvements
Management of Research Team Deliverables and P&L
