Our client is a South African based property development company whose core business is to provide a fully integrated property development and management service. Commercial, retail and industrial properties form part of the company's portfolio of services. They are currently looking to employ the services of an experienced Retail Development Manager. This individual would be responsible for the pre-design and pre-construction phases of their projects, overseeing all land related, marketing and financial aspects of the development
Minimum requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering or Construction Management
- 5+ years’ experience with Project management or Development Management
- High degree of professionalism and strong work ethic
- Document control experience
Job description:
- Networking with customers, brokers, designers, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors, contractors, suppliers and industry specialists
- Engage in business development by identifying and securing new development opportunities in existing market trends but also by opening up opportunities in niche markets and predicted future trends.
- Assist in the qualification of consultants used during the pre-design and pre-construction phase
- Manage, review and coordinate all town-planning related activities up to proclamation of the required development rights
- Manage, review, facilitate and coordinate the project designs, costing’s, feasibilities and funding
- Sourcing of clients and tenants for proposed developments and preparing and presenting appropriate development proposals to client and tenants towards concluding development and lease agreements.
- Negotiating and concluding the required development of lease agreement.
- Negotiating and securing, with the FM, the required equity or institutional funding required completing the development.
- Ensuring a seamless and detailed integration of the dedicated project manager function.
- Monitoring project implementation
- Ultimately responsible for the entire development process from inception to trading.
