Our client is an established Homeware Store. They are seeking dynamic Sales Assistants to join their team.

Main Objective

To undertake retail and customer service activities within the store in order to optimize sales targets and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications and Experience
Senior Certificate – Grade 12
A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a retail environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite i.e. Word and Excel

Competencies

Well-groomed and presentable
Clear understanding of customer centricity and service
Excellent communication skills

Details of Roles and Responsibilities

Greet customers and ascertain what each customer wants or needs
Listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to make a sale
Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices
Compute sales prices, total purchases and receive and process cash or credit payment
Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise
Describe and demonstrate merchandise
Price, arrange and display merchandise to promote sales
Place special orders or call other stores to find desired items
Clean shelves, windows, counters and tables
Exchange merchandise for customers and accept returns
Bag or package/gift wrap purchases
Representing the company at trade exhibitions, events and demonstrations
Maintain personal knowledge by completing in-house training and workbooks
