Job Profile:

The Returns Manager role is to verify that billing documents were produced for all shipments according to the distribution plan, to ensure the performance of billing actions by the distributing driver in accordance with company procedure, and to perform all procedures regarding the closure of distribution lines when all the documents are signed and scanned into SAP.

• Create and implement the operational plan for the Logistics’ debrief function in line with business strategy, ensuring all activity and processes are met in line with Principals requirements

• Manage any step change process which will align the current operational state to future state phase by planning, directing and controlling the pace through the establishment of new modern technology and a redefined process approach to ensure business targets are met.

• Establish an auditable system to measure and monitor the performance of Logistics’ debrief function and outputs to ensure site adherence to all required and planned debrief activity; taking any necessary corrective action to ensure the highest level of support and standards are achieved

• Establish first-class levels of service to ensure that the logistics de-brief function fulfills its commitments to the sites and our drivers, ensuring that as main point of contact and interface our drivers feel fully engaged from a customer service perspective

• Lead, coach and develop the Logistics’ debrief team to become a highly skilled multi-functional team with the capability of meeting current and future operational change requirements
• Lead and deliver a culture of continuous improvement by eliminating business waste associated with current de-brief functions

• • Continuously develop the SAP de-brief function to support and meet the changing business needs and provide support to the JHB Branch to ensure all the requirements.
• Lead and deliver project work as required within the Logistics services scope
• Produce daily, weekly, monthly data to report on the team’s performance to the business and to the team in order to drive and improve performance
• Analyze performance data, identify areas for improvement, report the information and recommend solutions
• Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all key stakeholders
Position Requirements
• The ideal candidate will have had 3 - 7 years’ experience in the logistics environment under the FMCG banner.
• Be able to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines and should have been involved in shift work operations.
• A clear understanding of and working experience of IT systems (ERP systems, WMS packages etc.).
• An understanding of operating to a set budget in the warehouse and to control the running expenses will be a necessity.
• A good understanding of housekeeping standards are needed to be able to run a tidy and clean operation.
• A hands-on operator.
