TRADE RIGGER ROPESMAN + 4 YEARS RIGGING IN VERTICAL SHAFT EXP + CERT FORKLIFT + OVERHEAD CRANES + WINDER ROPE INSPECTION CERTIFICATE + VALID DRIVERS LICENCE.

THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE ARE ESSENTIAL:§ Grade 12/Standard 10§ National Certificate Engineering Studies N2 § Rigger / Ropesman Trade Certificate NQF 3 relevant to the role§ Computer Literacy
§ 3 to 4 years rigging experience in a vertical shaft environment.
THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE WOULD BE ADVANTAGEOUS OR OPTIONAL
:§ National Diploma Engineering Studies
§ Folk lift and mobi lift certificates and experience
.§ Winder rope inspection certificate

ALTHOUGH NOT LIMITED TO, THE INCUMBENT WILL REPORT TO THE SUPERVISOR: RIGGING SERVICES AND THE MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
:§ Overall responsibility for the quality, standard and effectiveness of rigging services provided to the operations on the Mine.
§ Conduct heavy lifting activities
.§ Conduct complex slinging activities
§ Conduct winder and other rope inspections and provide guidance on all legal and ad hoc rope inspections that they are conducted in accordance with the required standard.
§ Responsible for the maintenance, operation and control of overhead cranes in the mine
§ Co-ordinate and inspect hired mobile cranes for the shutdowns
§ Ensure all lifting equipment are examined and tested in accordance to the relevant SANS
.§ Ensure that the required records of all inspections and examinations are kept and are up-to-date.
§ Compile work priority list and resource requirements; accurate shift and work order reports; and communicate resource requirements.
§ Complete safety, injury, hazard, risk and incident reports; allocated work orders sign-off; job cards and description of work and spares used; role administration requirements completed and communicated; planned maintenance schedules and ad hoc reports.
§ Maintain relations with internal customers (section riggers, supervisors and engineers) to ensure departmental needs are met and those customers’ requirements are exceeded.
§ Provide relevant and specialised technical support to customers.
§ Enhance safety awareness throughout working area.
§ Ensure working area and equipment is clean and safe at all times and in good working condition.
§ Ensure and comply with safety standards guidelines, policies and procedures
.§ PPE is worn during shift and safety rules and regulations adhered to
§ Declaration of safe working place.
§ Oversee housekeeping principles are adhered to
