You will be required to take full ownership of the operational, business and financial risk emanating across the entire Securities Business Unit. This would entail pro-actively and dynamically identifying and evaluating risks to actively monitor and mitigate these risks. You will be reporting into the Head of Operational Risk.

Qualifications & Experience
• 4 year degree in a Commercial (Accounting/ Finance/ Business Science) or Risk Management discipline. CA (SA)/ CIA/ MBA or similar would be advantageous.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in stockbroking industry.
• Experience in risk management or internal audit is advantageous.

Responsibilities
• Ensure that the Group’s risk management frameworks are effectively implemented and applied across securities.
• Contribute to development of market and best practice in respect of the Risk Function.
• Support the Risk Function in the development, implementation and maintenance of a risk framework pertaining to operational, business and financial risk.
• Implementation of risk identification, measurement, reporting, monitoring and management processes across the product categories in Securities.
• Implementing pragmatic and efficient solutions at Securities aligned with the maturity, scale and complexity of business lines and the business as a whole.
• Ensure alignment of standards and processes between Securities and the broader investment business.
• Support the implementation of risk systems where applicable. Supporting the Risk Function in the specification of requirements in respect of source data, data transformation, risk metric methodologies, output data, report automation and validation.
• Risk reporting, analysis and monitoring across operational and business risk for Securities.
• Supporting the Risk Function in risk reporting, analysis and monitoring across financial risks.
• Delivering the following requirements in respect of operational risk:
- Ensuring the delivery of comprehensive operational process maps;
- Embedding processes for the use of operational process maps, systems and resources to continuously improve operational efficiency;
- Embedding processes for the use of operational process maps, systems and resources to continuously enhance the operational control environment;
- Development and implementation of operational risk dashboards;
- Embed risk management, including process based risk and control identification and assessments, within Securities in close collaboration with business area heads;
- Development and implementation of operational risk tools to ensure the adequate assessment, monitoring and management of operational risks; and
- Ensuring the risk management requirements relating to business resilience, fraud risk, IT risk, project risk and information governance are effectively implemented within the business.
• Working closely with the business lines and supporting the Risk Function to identify sources of risk, key risk metrics and to determine scenario and stress analysis parameters.
• Involvement in the product development phase to identify sources of risk and working with other functions to develop and implement pro-active, business oriented solutions to mitigate and manage these risks.
• Participation in Securities, and where necessary, governance forums, committees and working committees.
