International Freight & Logistics Company based on the East Rand has a vacancy open for a Road Freight Controller to join their Road Freight team.

We are looking for an individual that has 3 - 5 years experience managing both national road freight and cross border road freight transport by;

? Ensuring that registration of documents is on the system;
? Communicating with external transporter ensuring the documentation is in order;
? Ensuring that the transporter has correct documentation;
? Monitoring transport daily movements;
? Ensuring that cargo is delivered in good condition;
? Rate negotiations and booking of transport.
? Ensuring correct export documents are received from clients;
? Providing clients with estimates;
? Updating clients with day-to-day tracking;
? Providing clients with monthly reports;
? Ensuring that delays are communicated with the clients;
? Assist clients with queries and find a suitable resolution.
? Knowledge of all documentation for customs clearing;
? Following up with collection and delivery points;
? Planning of consolidations, dedicated and full truck loads;
? Route planning, transport schedule for drivers;
? General office administration;
? Responsible for submission of invoices to finance for payment.


REQUIREMENTS:

? Minimum grade 12 (Matric)
? Diploma/Degree in Road Freight / Logistics
? Minimum 1 - 5 years’ working experience within the Road / Freight Industry
? Understanding of operations processes, methods, practices within sea freight environment
? Able to work extended hours if required
? Experience working on Ship Shape or similar management system
? Knowledge of road commercial insurance and loss control practices
? Knowledge of road cross board policies and procedures
? Excellent geographical understanding
? Excellent application of Excel / Word and Outlook
? Ability to communication at all levels both verbal and written
? Preparation of own correspondence
? Take responsibility and accountability for oneself and team
? Self-management
? Ability to find solutions to problems
? General office administration
? Valid driver’s license
? Sound knowledge of transport administration
? Strong customer focus, problem solving and decision making skills
? Excellent inter-personal skills
? The ability to work in a fast paced, highly pressurized environment is essential
? Able to plan, organize, strong attention to detail and follow up is necessary
