• GRADE 12
• QUALIFIED IN CO2 MIG WELDING
• COMPUTER LITERACY
• GOOD KNOWLEDGE OF MS OFFICE SOFTWARE
• MINIMUM 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE IN ROBOT OPERATION
• EXPERIENCE IN WORKING WITH YASKAWA AND MOTOMAN ROBOTS
• STRONG UNDERSTANDING OF GMAW WELDING PROCESS
• WORKING KNOWLEDGE OF MIG WELDING PROCESSES
• KNOWLEDGE OF ROBOTIC WELDING AND MATERIAL HANDLING PROCESSES.
• PERSON WHO CAN THINK ON HIS / HER FEET
• ABLE TO OPERATE IN HIGHLY PRESSURIZED ENVIRONMENT
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality and workflow. Knowledge in robotic welding and material handling applications. Be able to read and interpret Technical Drawings. Able to use or have the ability to learn to use various precision measuring tools. Ability to perform simple shop math, convert decimals to fractional equivalents.
Experience 3 or more years of related technical, hands on experience in manual and/or automated welding processes is essential. 2 or more year practical experience in the role of a Robot Operator on Yaskawa/Motoman or similar robots is essential. Such experience in a medium-sized organization will be advantageous.
Duties Starts machine, engages feed, and observes operation. Lifts work piece manually or using hoist and secures work piece in fixture Run the program and check and monitor torches and readjust as needed. Moves machine controls and guides to adjust machine in a safe manner. Troubleshoot part fit-up problems. Ensure that all robots and robot equipment is maintained in good order and documented. Ensure that health, safety and housekeeping standards are met throughout robotics department and where work is carried out. Replaces worn machine accessories (Such as Nozzles, Tips and Wire Liners) Replenishment of all required welding consumables (Such as Welding Wire) Ensure daily production has been completed in a timely manner; as per the set out production schedule. Work in accordance with quality standards to ensure correct welding of components. Provide support in the analysis and resolution of weld equipment failures.
